Bernadette Drummond BDS, MS, PhD, FRACDS, FDSRCSEd
Bernadette Drummond graduated in New Zealand and completed graduate training in paediatric dentistry and dental research in the USA and England. She is Professor and Specialist in Paediatric Dentistry at the University of Otago in Dunedin New Zealand where she heads the paediatric dentistry programmes including the Clinical Doctorate leading to specialization in Paediatric Dentistry. She provides specialist clinical services for children and young adults with special needs and is an Honorary Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry for the Southern District Health Board. Bernadette has published over 70 papers with a research focus related to improving children’s oral health-related quality of life. She recently co-edited a book devoted to the recognition and management of dental enamel defects. Bernadette was appointed to the IAPD International Board in 2015 and is currently President of the Australasian Academy of Paediatric Dentistry and a Past President of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.
